There are so many unique ways to learn and understand how the government works and the way we should respect everyone in our society. Here are some classroom-based projects.
Within the classroom or among all classrooms in your grade level, divide the class into the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches. Hold elections for the President, Vice president, Cabinet, Senators and Congress, and Supreme Court. Have the students discuss and propose class laws and activities than vote on them. Have each branch work together. Students can take turns running for different positions in each branch. The teacher is there to guide the process and assure positive learning.
"Have fun and remember the important lessons from your activities!"
